Improvements in version .70…
04/12/09 12:46 Filed in: Humor
Hi Guys,
It took a long time to released, but here is it : a full new version with many features :
- window is now resizable and the neck will fit the window
- you can open several windows
- neck customisation : number of frets, of strings ( from 4 to 7 ), left hand option, size and font of the notes,…
- You can add your own tunings
- Height and width of the window is saved, as well as other options
- When displaying Degrees or Orders, the notes are shown
In case you have troubles reading preferences while upgrading, you can delete the Guitar_Tools.Pref and Guitar_Tools.Pref in /home/Library/Preferences/ on Mac and in \Documents and settings\User\Application Data\ on Windows
GT070 has been succesfully tested under Leopard, SnowLeopard, XP, Vista, and Windows Seven too ! It should work correctly under Tiger too.
Hope you will enjoy !
Regards,
Buddy

Thanks again for your constructive remarks and comments.
Version 0.61 is on his way, with small adjustments.
Version 0.61 :
- Add a customization option for the fretted note : draw as a circle or a rectangle
- Add a customization option for the neck : Wood image
- Drawing should be smoother under Windows
- Made a fix concerning relative Chord/Scale
Leave me a comment if you want me to add a chord, a scale, or whatever !
Regards, Buddy

Here is the first public update !
I would like to thank all of you that download and try GuitarTools and send me feedback.
Very special thanks to Roddy, Neil, Eddie and RockIt for their constructive remarks and reports !
Here are the details about version 0.60 :
- The bottom line of the guitar neck is correctly draw,
- The neck is correctly updated while playing scales,
- Update process : no more useless message at the launch of application, also changes in version are presented,
- Some typos have been corrected too,
- Scales : Aeolian is now named Aeolian(Natural Minor),
- Modify the "degree order" option. It displays now the relationship of the notes.
- Add a copy menu, which copy the guitar neck to the clipboard. You can then paste the picture where you want
Hope you 'll enjoy it !

Version 0.59

It took a full week to get GuitarTools on Version Tracker... Should be on line in a few hours.
I discovered that printing was broken in version 0.58, so I rewrote that part.
I also add an automatic update fonction, so you 'll be notified when a new version will be release.

To Canaan's Land... Not really, I hope so , but I love this Doc Watson song, with Chet Atkins playing and singing beside Doc. Just great ! It just came in my mind as I was working tonight.
I build the 0.58 version today and the site is on line. Many thanks for all that supported me. I know they will recognise themselves
.
Keep on Picking and having fun,
Cheers, Buddy

Building the site, adding some new functionalities to GuitarTools took me much more time than I thought.
More, I had to migrate to a new version of my development environment, which was released by the mean time.
Gosh, too little compatibility, I had to rewrite plenty of code !!! I'm wondering how one could manage big development projects using this, if he has to rewrite his code every three months...
However, here we are. The first public version is on his way, the site will be publish soon.
I hope you 'll enjoy both of them. Read More...

Building the site...
In fact, it's a long way. Even if it's quite funny to try different products, you always have to fight a new problem or limitation.
Anyway, I made my choice and I'll stick to it !
What do you think about it ? Read More...
